So how does this SEO thing work?
It’s a complicated question to answer as there are many variables and concepts involved with doing search engine optimization. The first thing I will say is that we employ White Hat Methods that help get front page rankings. Think of cowboys; the white hats are the good guys and the black hats are the bad guys. The methods we use do not attempt to trick out the search engines. Our methods focus on blogging and super rich relevant content.
Many of today’s SEO companies do very little to get things done the right way. I’ve been involved in web production and Internet marketing for better than 20 years. I know what works and what doesn’t work.

One piece of the puzzle that helps get better results is targeting to a geo-specific locale. A live example from one of our clients employs this technique. The client is Martins Mill Legal Center. If you type “center city lawyer” into Google or Yahoo, the site ranks #1 on the first page. The BING engine has it ranking at #3 on the first page. Not so shabby! Our job is to do the same with other relevant keywords and to then make certain they stay there! Ultimately, it becomes a methodical and strategical game much like chess.
How long will it take to see results?
This is the question we are asked more than any other question, except for maybe, “How much will this cost me?” My reply is always the same: “Slow and steady wins the race!” It’s really true. When SEO is applied properly, you usually start to see results within two to three months. It may take 6 months to reach the front page of search results, but if the keywords and location are included with rich content done right, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t work.
We talk at length with our clients and decide what the best five keywords related to their business, industry and locale will be. We research their competitors and industry. We look at what their competition does and sometimes, more importantly, what they do not do. Then we compile the data and run reports with the SEO tools we use in-house. And then we go at it like a pack of wild dogs going to town on scraps found in a garbage can! I am well aware that the analogy you just read in the prior sentence was way over the top, but we are aggressive! Next we expand on the keywords.
